Three of the country's leading charities for people with disabilities have combined to create   openbritain - an all new definitive guide book and web site for people with disabilities and specific access requirements.

Supported by ALL national tourism authorities and Regional Development Agencies, OpenBritain aims to become a one stop shop facility for all those requiring accessibility information and assistance. With backing from many organisations including The AA, British Hospitality Association, The National Trust, English Heritage and Hudson’s – OpenBritain will develop a wide range of service and information facilities aimed to provide as much reliable information as possible with particular emphasis on UK tourism and holidays.

The OpenBritain brand will be appearing nationwide to indicate that facilities exist within that establishment for those with access requirements – this will initially cover Hotels, Bed and Breakfast, Caravan and Camping Sites, Attractions and, eventually, restaurants.

Over the coming months OpenBritain will add new areas to the site enabling social networking and linking to community activity as well as providing news and views.
